Child Care Quality Guidelines

Parents looking for child care facilities have a number of resources to use in evaluating a potential child care facility.   The National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education provides a comprehensive study of the 13 indicators for quality child care:

  •   Child Abuse Indicator
  •   Immunization Indicator
  •   Staff Child Ratio and Group Size Indicator
  •   Staff Qualifications Indicator
  •   Director Qualifications Indicator
  •   Staff Training Indicator
  •   Supervision/Discipline Indicator
  •   Fire Drills Indicator
  •   Medication Indicator
  •   Emergency Plan/Contact Indicator
  •   Outdoor Playground Indicator
  •   Toxic Substances Indicator
  •   Handwashing/Diapering Indicator
