CPSC Recall: Jardine Cribs Recalled Due to Injury Risk
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Jardine Enterprises have announced yesterday that the company will recall approximately 320,000 cribs sold within the past 6 years. The cribs were sold mainly at Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us locations nationwide. The names of other stores carrying the Jardine cribs can be found in the press release issued by CPSC.
The reason for the recall is the faulty slats and spindles, which may break and cause a gap, posing a danger of strangulation and other injury to children. CPSC has received reports of 42 incidents involving children breaking the crib's slats and spindles, with 2 of the cases resulting in injury.
The recall affects 28 models of Jardine cribs. Jardine is encouraging parents to immediately stop using any recalled crib and is offering those affected by the recall a full credit to use toward the purchase of another crib. To receive a voucher and to see a list and photos of the affected cribs, please visit the Jardine recall website.
